Synopsis

At first glance, the Singer appears to be a low-budget crooner, accompanied by a Musician attempting to recreate the sound of a full orchestra on a keyboard. But the Singer is someone with a message for us. Someone who invites us to take on an exceptional role in the history of humanity: the role that is ours by lineage and by divine will. The piece is based on a real case that took place in France in the early 2000s: the story of how the conman Thierry Tilly transformed an aristocratic family into an apocalyptic cult for a decade, with himself as its guru. But the work also explores the mechanisms of manipulation and the ease with which fear and the desire to feel special can transform reality into a dangerous shared fiction.
